Volunteer Sector Support

Community Link offer a wide range of mentoring and support to Waimate clubs & organisations - and Volunteer Hub is the place where we bring it all together.

Funding Advice

We will work with your organisation to help you access suitable funding for your organisation or project. We share our experience in what makes up a successful funding application, help ensure you have all the supporting material that you need, guide you through the budgeting process, and what is expected from a financial and reporting basis.

Strategic & Governance Advice

We are passionate about stong community organisations and where able we are happy to share the skills and knowledge that we have gained over the years. We can work with you to help you implement modern governance practices into your organisation, and guide you though challenges your organisation may be facing. We can also link you in with extenal mentors, training opportunities and specialist advice where needed.

Policies & Process

We pride ourselves on our systems and processes and have developed a strong policy suite to support our work. We are happy to share our templates, and external resources, so that you can build systems that work for your organisation, while also complying with the requirements of running a modern organisation.

Clubs & Organisations Database

We maintain a register of all clubs & organisations within the Waimate District and encourage all organisations to register with us. We update this list regularly and publish a print version of the contact list which is used by Waimate Information Centre, and also available in our reception. From late September 2021 all organisations will also have an online profile through the Community Resource Kit.

Community Resource Kit

The Community Resource Kit is our major community project for 2021. Due to launch in late September 2021, this website will hold much of the information we use and share everyday with our clients. Features will include profiles of all of our clubs and organisations, social services and providers, health & wellbeing information, links into government agencies, details of organisations who deliver services locally and links to help, resources, support and advice. Our goal is to pull all of that community information into one place so that it is easy for our community to find out where they can access help, support and information. So watch this space as we develop this project further.

Volunteer Hub

This new initiative of Community Link has been created to support our incredibly community of volunteers. We wanted to create a way for people to access all things volunteering in one space and make it easier to connect organisations and volunteers. We will regularly add to this information as more becomes available - and are looking forward to the official launch at the end of July 2021.

“Volunteering is an act of heroism on a grand scale. And it matters profoundly. It does more than help people beat the odds; it changes the odds.” –William J. Clinton
